Accessible Procurement is one of seven key pillars of the Accessible Canada Act (ACA) and a growing concern for many large procurement organizations. To date, very little exists on accessible procurement to help large, complex organizations understand what to do and how to bring about meaningful change to meet pending ACA requirements.
We are the only organization in Canada to have successfully completed an ASC-funded research project to understand the nature of procurement and how it has created and continues to create barriers to participation by people with disabilities. Adaptability Canada is one of few organizations in Canada that has committed a deep investment of time and resources to understand this emerging area of need.
